IAM provides individual supports to maximize the independence of adults with disabilities who live in their home or in the home of a family member. This service focuses primarily on home skills for independent living, which increase the likelihood that the individual can remain successfully at home. Related activities can be provided in the community. Typical activities may include home safety, medical appointments, cooking and food safety, laundry, home organization, budgeting and bill paying, home maintenance, cleaning home, food safety, communication with neighbors and family in the home, exercise, how to have friends successfully visit and phone and internet safety.
